Biocatalysts for conversion of carbon dioxide into fuels

Global dependence on petroleum has resulted in two major problems – Depletion of petroleum reserves and global warming. Scientists are therefore engaged in massive research programs to convert carbon dioxide into fuels. An option that is being considered is the use of enzymes also known as biocatalysts to derive efficient fuels which could be an alternative to petroleum itself.
